One of our most popular installation projects are Running Tracks suitable for the Daily Mile. The Daily Mile is a scheme that any school can participate in and involves pupils running one mile every day in a loop some where on the school’s property.

We recommend a dedicated running track for this, because running in a loop everyday can quickly churn up natural grass resulting in students getting mud on their uniform. And if the loop is on concrete then a trip or fall can be quite painful for a student unless it is on a non-abrasive surface like artificial grass.

We have completed a number of Daily Mile installations this summer. Take a look at some of these interesting, completed installations.

Active Play Blue - August 2021 - High Wycombe

This installation in a school in High Wycombe uses our Active Play which is becoming increasingly more popular. The grass is a close stich 12mm yarn which makes it a great surface for all sports. As you can see we have this in blue as well as many other colours including White, Red, Dark Green, Black, Light Green, Light Grey, Dark Grey and Brown.

Daily Mile

This is part of a track that goes right around the school.  If this area was natural grass and experiencing constant trampling by children it would quickly tern into a muddy mess and be unusable.

We can construct bespoke tracks for schools that are designed for a variety of surfaces. A tantalised timber edge can provide longevity and a Geotextile membrane can provide stability and prevention of weeds.

If the track is on a concrete surface, we can even add a shockpad layer that can absorb impacts for children’s feet.

We have even installed mini running tracks from small children in nurseries.  This mini track is a great way to get under kids running in some sort of orderly way!
