Case Study: The Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
The Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is one of 47 located around the UK and manages over 40 nature reserves in the area whilst working to care for and raise awareness of the environment.
The trust runs a variety of projects around the county, including hands-on activities which take place at the Whistlestop Centre in Matlock Bath.
Situated in the old railway station buildings, the Centre provides a unique learning experience for children of all ages and abilities.
With its very own classroom, the Whistlestop Centre runs a range of programmes and activities related to learning Outside the Classroom, something that we’re currently supporting here at Nomow with the launch of our #NomowPlay campaign.
Nomow recently had the privilege of working with the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, and donated donating an area of artificial grass for the education classroom at the Whistlestop Centre.
We hope that the grass provides a unique and durable place for children to come and enjoy.
The Trust, who kindly wrote and thanked us for our donation, said about the project;
“I would like to thank you for your very kind donation of the piece of grass for the education classroom at the Whistlestop centre. It is very much appreciated and will benefit many children from all over Derbyshire who visit the centre every year. It has brightened up the classroom and has continued an outdoor theme inside. I have attached a couple of photographs of its a place for you to see how amazing it looks.
All donations are highly appreciated as they contribute to protecting wildlife for the future. Derbyshire Wildlife Trust would not be able to carry out the conservation work it does without the generosity of its members, volunteers and donors.”
We hope that the centre will enjoy its new flooring for many years to come!
